I only paid for a blackberry bend as well as we am not certain how to put it upon silent. When we go to profiles, we see still as well as off. What’s a difference? Which a single will keep my phone all silent?

  1. 1. Robert F Says:

On the 8330 you will see the speaker which is the sound app for your device. Put it on vibrate and you will not hear anything. Example: my phone has been going off today and I did not realize it until it vibrate – no noise at all except the vibrate. I forgot I change my sound profile to vibrate and you will not get the sound. When you turn it to off you will not get any sound nor vibrations. In quiet you will not get any sound from phone calls as but I believe you will get sound from email (not sure though).

What I did was try the different modes by calling my phone. But of course that won’t give you the info in regard to text messages or email alerts.

“Off” means no notifications (no vibrate, no ring, no flashing light, nothing).

You can also setup custom “profiles” so it only notifies you certain ways, so perhaps you don’t want any notifications, except a quick vibrate if a work email comes in, or two vibrations if a call comes in.

On the Curve you can also customize each of the preset profiles. Scroll to the profile you want to customize, click the menu button, select edit.

    Hope that helps.

I would also suggest mass reading at it’s an amazing BlackBerry user forum with thousands of users, many of them experts.

    Good luck!
