I have a 500G USB2.0/eSATA Freeagent Pro given December 2007. This is a a single with a single USB plug. The initial time we used it, it worked fine.
But now, at your convenience we block it in to my laptop, Windows XP doesn’t commend it. I’ve checked a seagate website as well as nothing of their suggestions have worked (win XP SP2, device manager, etc.etc.).
Also, if we block all in as well as afterwards energy upon a outmost tough drive, it lights up as well as afterwards fifteen seconds later, it lights down (powers down). The “manual” shows powering a expostulate prior to plugging a USB in to your computer.
Anyone have any thought what’s starting on?

im sorry to break it to you but that drive is probably dead… download the Seagate hd testing utility from their website and test it… im willing to bet that drive is clicking too… just for kicks also find another cable for the drive and make sure its not the cable
