Are you trying to use the card your dad used? If so then, the card is only valid for one gamertag. You have to buy a new 12 month subscription card, or purchase it via Xbox live with a credit card.

buy a new card. its only 1 person per card for the membership stuff. and you dont have to buy them in 12 month 1s. i buy them in 3 month 1s easier 4 me then because im in school alot
